Grant Info
The slide show (featured on the right) are images from the 2003 Indiana's Birthday Celebration which was attended by the fourth grade classes from Munster's elementary schools. Students travel through learning stations which similulate pioneer activities. These activities include tinsmithing, stenciling, exploring pioneer games, trying on pioneer clothing, making ice cream, using calligraphy, making horn books, and finger weaving. An historical interpreter describes life in a trading post; an historian dressed as a voyageur describes life as a trapper and trader; and a singer performs and teaches songs to students about Indiana history and geography.
